Anybody else had a bad experience or even a good one please let me know I did not realise there would be so much involved in getting engaged

cheers

In response to:Help find engagement ring

Hi discobod

Thanks for that advice

I would only buy a ring if it had a certificate with it and I will have to remember to pick a ring that fits or if I bought online then I would make sure I could pick a diamond and choose a ring size to fit me, also make sure that I could return it if I was not happy.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. shows that it doesn't make any difference where you buy it. but if they have a certificate I am sure they are safe.

cheers

In response to:Help find engagement ring

cant help you with a shop in UK only some advice:

i got engaged 10 years ago and we bought a ring together from a cute looking shop in north london (which has been there for eternity)

half a carat with 4 little diamonds on the mount with a few adjustments by my wife to be we had a deal for 1200 quid.

i even looked at the stone through a minature telescope thingy and it looked great.

2 years later we divorced and she went to get some cash for the ring - the jeweller said it was one of the most flawed rings he had ever seen for its size and it was worth 200 at the most.

i just think without holding the ring in your hand i think you are running a slight risk - i swear that the jeweller had exchanged the stone in the ring while it was being adjusted - what a creep.

the jewellers closed down around 2 or 3 years ago - he was arrested for handling stolen gold. just desserts.

good luck with all your plans........hope this helps you out
